For the 25th year, the United Way of Central Kentucky has begun their annual campaign as they look for support in their mission to bring together people, resources, and organizations to build stronger communities.
The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce’s September Membership Luncheon Wednesday served as the formal kickoff for the campaign. UWCK President and CEO Kirk Chadwick said at the event the organization is excited to build on a strong legacy built over 25 years.
“There’s a lot of work to be done as we strengthen individuals and families and the nonprofits in our community, and we have a really great strategy to do that as we raise money and and give it to agencies that need that money, so we’re excited to be a part of this campaign this year,” Chadwick said.
Chadwick said the goal of this year’s campaign is to raise more than $1 million as they look to broaden the scope of their nonprofit support.
“We have a lot of needs in our community and we’re working closely with every nonprofit that we can to be able to provide grants for them to be able to meet those needs, so we’re excited about that goal,” Chadwick said.
