Everyone has struggles. No one is immune. We struggle with hurts from our past and our present. We have tons of regrets and bad decisions that we wish we could go back and change. Most of those regrets and bad decision are tied to relationships which have become broken. We wish we could repair all of those broken relationships. Add to this, we have a sinful past that we have tried to run from. All of this weighs us down and we have a tendency to develop destructive habits. These can be addictive behaviors, avoidance, depression, fear, anxiety, worry, risky behaviors and a host of other hang-ups that keep us from healthy relationships. We wish we could fix ourselves, but we can’t. Others have tried to fix us, but they can’t. What can we do? Where can we turn?

Drowning is the #1 cause of death for healthy children ages 1-4, yet, we don't talk about it. This isn't common knowledge in our society.
Our goal is to raise awareness around the biggest threat to our 1-4 year old's lives (and SECOND cause of death for children under 14) so that no other parents sit in a hospital room learning everything that would have protected their child, 24 hours too late (like we did). Talking about water safety should be right up there with finding the safest car seat, teaching our children to go down the stairs properly, to cross the street safely, etc.
Strapping a floatation device on our kids (which teaches them they can swim, when they can't swim), is NOT water safety. We have it all wrong. And, unfortunately, due to this misinformation, more children will lose their lives to the biggest threat to it and more parents will sit in a hospital room wondering how this happened. But, YOU CAN HELP US SAVE LIVES!
The three main areas that we advocate, that we are convinced had we known, would have saved Vinny's life:
1. SURVIVAL SWIM: not all swim lessons are created equally! We want to ensure we are teaching our children how to be SAFE in the water, before we teach them to LOVE the biggest threat to their lives. This can be done in weeks, not months or years.
2. DITCH THE FLOATIES IN THE POOL: Our kids don't need them, you do! Get in the water with your children and enable them to unlock their OWN ability to float, the only layer of protection they take with them wherever they go!
3. LAYERS OF PROTECTION: door/window locks and alarms, POOL FENCE, close/constant/competent supervision, learn CPR.
Funds raised from our golf scramble will enable us to provide scholarships across the country for children that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford them. The funds also allow us to advocate and teach others what we would do ANYTHING to go back and know.
We thank you in advance for joining our momentum to help us advocate for what will save little lives!
