Area law enforcement agencies are among the recipients of federal grant funding aimed at combating drug trafficking. August unemployment in Kentucky is mostly in line with from where it was the previous year. The Kentucky Center for Statistics says the state unemployment average for August was 4.7 percent. That number is unchanged from the rate reported in July, but is up .2 percent from the August 2025 average of 4.5 percent.
