River of Hope Event in Brandenburg celebrates Recovery Month

Area residents are invited to come out to the Riverfront Park Amphitheater in Brandenburg for an afternoon dedicated to hope, healing, recovery, and community connection at the River of Hope Event. “It’s going to be like another resource fair event, but it’s also going to have some different walking components and things for the family and children to do,” said CommuniCare Certified Prevention Specialist Andrea Sheroan. The event runs Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at the park, and will feature live music, vendors, food trucks, a youth talent show, children’s activities, and community resources. The riverfront event will be followed at 6 p.m. with the Hope Walk at Buttermilk Falls, which invites participants to “come together to celebrate hope, honor every story, and remind our community that no one is alone.” The event is being organized by the Lincoln Trail District Health Department, Meade County Champions, the Meade County Family Resource Center, CommuniCare, and the Meade County Public Library.
