State Rep. Steve Bratcher is asking the Hardin County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) to make property assessments reflect current market conditions and fair-market values.
In an official public statement, Bratcher said property taxes are a real concern for Hardin County homeowners, especially families and people on fixed incomes.
Bratcher represents House District 25, which includes part of Hardin County.
The request is not a decision by the PVA, and no reassessment, tax change or dollar impact has been announced.
State guidance from the Kentucky Department of Revenue says county PVAs are responsible for assessing most real property and conduct annual revaluations. Any change in an individual assessment would need to come through the PVA’s process.
