Wolf Country, we’ve got some big breaking news out of New Mexico — country star Bailey Zimmerman is facing a felony charge after allegedly going on a bender and trashing his hotel room at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque back on May 27.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, prosecutors in Bernalillo County filed criminal papers on June 18 to get an arrest warrant against the “Rock and A Hard Place” singer. He’s looking at a felony charge for criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services.
Here’s what the affidavit says went down: Bailey was scheduled to perform at the amphitheater at Sandia Resort that night, but security said he appeared drunk throughout the evening. According to the docs, he was stumbling, falling, and acting belligerently during sound check — throwing microphones on the ground, tossing cymbals, and knocking part of the drum kit over. He stormed off stage multiple times before leaving sound check entirely.
Things got worse from there. The docs say when Bailey was heading back to the resort, he spit toward a nearby security officer and complained about having to ride in a white SUV instead of a black one. He was reportedly stumbling so badly that his shoe came off, his knee was bloody, and he had to lean on someone from his group to walk down the hallway.
The show was canceled that night, and the resort kicked him out. He allegedly refused to leave in a bus the resort provided, but eventually cooperated and was escorted off the property.
The next day, housekeeping found the room completely trashed — to the tune of $16,000 in damages. The damage allegedly included a TV, phone, coffee table, and two chairs, plus a hole in one wall, damage to other walls, carpet stains, and two missing chairs. The hotel also claimed Bailey charged over $400 in alcohol to the room and never settled the tab.
Resort staff and police tried to reach Bailey and his team but got no response — which led to the arrest warrant being issued.
No statement has been released from Bailey Zimmerman or his team at this time. We’ll keep you updated as this story develops right here on 94.3 The Wolf — Wolf Country’s home for the latest in country music news.
