A 57-year-old Elizabethtown woman was killed and a 37-year-old Cecilia man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night on Hardinsburg Road in Cecilia, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded at about 8:37 p.m. to the 4600 block of Hardinsburg Road, the agency said.
Investigators say the woman was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van eastbound when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by the 37-year-old Cecilia man. The woman died from her injuries.
The 37-year-old man suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to Baptist Health Hardin.
Authorities have not released the identity of either driver. The Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating, and no further information was available.
Funeral services for Trooper Hayden Phillips are set for noon Central Sunday at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green; burial will follow in Glasgow. Gov. Andy Beshear ordered flags lowered statewide. Attorney General Russell Coleman praised Phillips and said his office’s detectives are supporting Kentucky State Police.
