Kentucky unemployment average sees drop in August

The unemployment rate in Kentucky saw another decline. The Kentucky Center for Statistics says the state unemployment average for August was 4.7 percent. That is down .2 percent from the month of July, and down .5 percent from the August 2024 average of 5.2 percent. An incident outside of Central Hardin High School Thursday prompted a soft lockdown of the school campus and resulted in an arrest. Law enforcement investigating thefts from area cemeteries
