Carter looking to continue expanding ‘entire school experience’ as Breckinridge County Schools heads back to class

Breckinridge County Schools Superintendent Dr. Nick Carter says as the district gets ready for the first day of class on Monday, the goal remains the same: focusing on the “entire school experience” with strong instruction in the classroom and great extracurricular opportunities.

“We’ve been working really hard over the past year with academic standards and assessment and accountability, and we’re seeing great results, and we’re really excited to continue that great work while we continue to focus in on just making sure that our kids have a great experience,” Carter said.

As the school year gets under way, families will see extensive construction as work ramps up on the new middle school facility and new athletic stadium.

“That construction’s moved a little bit over into the high school side where we’re doing some geothermal well drilling, so that’s major stuff going on there, so as far as traffic goes and pulling in and out of those campuses, it’s going to be a little different,” Carter said. “Everyone will need to allow themselves some extra time.”
