Carrie Underwood to sing at Trump Inauguration

Carrie Underwood is set to perform “America the Beautiful” during President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025. She will be joined by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club for this special performance.

Underwood, who is known for keeping her political views private, shared her thoughts on being part of the event. “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” she said.

This marks a rare public engagement in a political setting for Underwood, who has previously stated her preference to remain neutral in political discussions. In a 2019 interview, she explained, “I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public.”

The inauguration ceremony will take place at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Other performers at the event include opera singer Christopher Macchio, the University of Missouri Marching Mizzou Band, and the United States Marine Band.
