Clarity Solutions is Celebrating Their Impact in the Community.

Clarity Solutions has been serving Elizabethtown for 20 years. Since 2001, they have offered services for people that are pregnant whether that be expected or unexpected. 

Director of Ministry Advancement Maegan Bennett says they have grown significantly with three locations. They are currently working on building a maternity home set to open this year.

A celebration will be held July 25th Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm to recognize their impact on the community.

It will be held at the 116 east memorial drive location, and all locations will be open to tour.

A Free Acappella Concert is Happening at Freeman Lake.

The Heart of Kentucky men’s chorus is ready to help put some pep in your step.

They will be holding a free acappella concert July 24th at 7pm at the Emerald Cathedral, located at Freeman lake. 

There will be other groups singing including Quartet from the Chorus, 9 to 5, The Revelators, and The Kentucky Babes Quartet. 

Parking is available at Freeman Lake or at Grace Heartland Church.

Bourbon-Tasting Event Comes to State Theater Tomorrow

A new bourbon centric event is coming to Elizabethtown.

The State Theater Wesbanco Gallery will be hosting a bourbon tasting program tomorrow. The event features the Bardstown Bourbon Company and Master Distiller Steve Nally. He will present bourbon recipes as well as bourbon-focused food pairings.

Also showing up is the Board & You, a restaurant that has plans of hitting the Elizabethtown restaurant scene in 2022.

19-Year-Old Kayaker Found

The search for a kayaker who went missing Tuesday afternoon is over.

First responders received a call at 3:43 Tuesday afternoon in reference to a kayaker in distress. The area was thoroughly searched upon their arrival but the kayaker was not initially located.

At approximately 3:24 Wednesday afternoon, the body was located in approximately 20′ of water deceased. The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Kenneth Robertson, a Hardin County resident.

Train Derailed In Colesburg

A CSX train carrying plastic pellets derailed in Colesburg last night around 8 p.m. According to CSX, there were 7 rail cars that derailed. They were not carrying hazardous material.

Officials from the city of Elizabethtown reported that I-65 was shut down in both directions between exits 91 and 105 just before 9 p.m. The roadway was closed for about an hour.

CSX states that they are focused on rebuilding the tracks and are working closely with local authorities. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

Cram the Cruiser is Back.

The Elizabethtown Police Department is ready to help send kids back to school. Their annual cram the cruiser school supply drive kicked off monday.

 Elizabethtown police officer Chris Denham says that there are four drop off locations at WalMart, Kroger, and the Elizabethtown Police department. They are looking for school supply donations. 

The drive will last until august 6th. All proceeds will go to benefit Elizabethtown Independent schools and Hardin County schools.

Outpatient Medical Pavilion Approved for Baptist Health Hardin

Baptist Health Hardin is expanding with their latest project: an outpatient medical pavilion. It will be built behind the hospital’s existing facility on North Dixie avenue.  

President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health Hardin, Dennis Johnson says that this will allow patients to get the best care under one roof. They will also be able to recruit the best physicians as a result of this new pavilion.  

The new building will be constructed in phases and is anticipated to be complete in 2025. Detailed plans and schematics will be available in the coming months

Dixie Highway Construction Delayed

The first phase of the Dixie Highway construction plan is going to be delayed longer than expected. 

Public Information Officer for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 Chris Jessie says that the deadline for the first phase has been pushed back to the first of September. 

These delays can be attributed to numerous problems such as weather and a small workforce due to covid that have built up over time.
