Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Andy Beshear held a rally in Elizabethtown yesterday morning. Beshear was joined at Bub’s Café by fellow members of the Democratic ticket including Heather French Henry, Greg Stumbo, and Michael Bowman. Current Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin held a rally of his own at the Elizabethtown Shoney’s last week.
Students at John Hardin High School are working on a special hydroponics project. Hydroponics is a plant growing method that does not use soil, but rather mineral nutrient solutions. They will be growing bibb lettuce and pea-shoot microgreens that whey will then sell to the school cafeteria. The project is called Aquafood and was created out of a desire to empower and educate students on food security and safety. The school and district say they are very proud of not only the students, but the administration and all their work as well.
The Fourth Annual Hardin County Entrepreneurial Awards are coming up in November, and the Central Region Innovation Center is seeking nominations for the six categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Start-Up of the Year, and Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year. Nominations can be placed by visiting the Hardin County Entrepreneurial Awards website. Nominations are due by November 5th.
